Overview

APIM Therapeutics is developing a pipeline of proprietary peptide therapeutics targeting Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIs) between Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen (PCNA)1 and proteins containing a PCNA-interacting Peptide Motif called APIM2 (AlkB homolog 2 PCNA Interacting Motif). By selectively disrupting stress-response pathways in cancer cells, these compounds are designed to enhance the efficacy of existing anti-cancer therapies while maintaining a favorable safety profile.

Our lead candidate, ATX-101, is a first-in-class PCNA-targeting peptide being developed for the treatment of solid tumors both as a single agent and in combination with standard-of-care therapies. Following completion of a successful Phase I study demonstrating favorable safety and encouraging signs of clinical activity, ATX-101 has advanced into multiple clinical development programs:

Platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer
A completed Phase Ib study evaluating ATX-101 in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy demonstrated a favorable safety profile together with encouraging anti-tumor activity, supporting further clinical development.

Soft tissue sarcoma
Clinical development in liposarcoma and leiomyosarcoma has progressed from an investigator-initiated Phase II study to additional combination studies evaluating ATX-101 together with standard chemotherapy. These programs are supported by encouraging preclinical and early clinical findings.

Future indications
Additional development opportunities are being pursued in tumor types including glioblastoma, where preclinical studies have demonstrated promising activity.

In parallel, APIM Therapeutics is advancing a second generation of APIM-targeting therapeutics with improved pharmaceutical properties. This program, supported by the Research Council of Norway through an Innovation Project for Industrial Development (IPN), aims to deliver the next generation of PCNA-targeting oncology therapeutics.
